What’s new on our website?
If you regularly visit our website, you may have noticed that since 1 February 2018 there have been some changes and new additions. In keeping with the current, modern design of our website, we have made some structural changes to make it easier for the different users of our site (residents, visitors, businesses and council bodies) to access the information they require, as well as increasing the functionality and breadth of information on our website. Carry on reading to find out what’s new…
New landing pages
We’ve created four new landing pages which are designed to reflect the different needs of the different users identified above. These landing pages can be accessed from every page via the coloured tabs on laptops and computers, or from the menu in the top right hand corner on mobiles and tablets.
Directory
Local community groups and businesses can now list themselves for free on our new and improved directory at www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/business-directory. Our directory allows you to upload an image, list your contact details, a brief summary about your organisation and connect your social media accounts too. Please ensure you read, and agree to, the terms and conditions.
- Simply create an account (which will enable you full editing rights to your listing) by going to www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/register-user
- You will then receive an email to activate your account, which will also contain the instructions on how to create your listing
Opportunities
Do you have a local job vacancy? Perhaps you offer internships or apprenticeships? Or maybe you’re a community group who is looking for committee members or volunteers to join your team? You can now list your opportunities on our website, for free, by completing the form at www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/opportunities.
Things to do in Thame
You’ll never be stuck for ideas for what to do in Thame with our new ‘Things to do in Thame’ page, with no less than 56 ideas! Take a look and let us know if you have other ideas to add: www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/visit-thame/things-to-do.
Local Room Hire
The Town Council’s website now lists all local room and facilities hire that we know about, so take a look at the list if you’re looking for a venue!
Let’s do business
If you’re a local business, you’ll be pleased to know we have created an entire section to our website dedicated to helping businesses in our community. The business page (www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/business) will direct you to promotional opportunities, support available, networking events, a jobs board, business newsletter and more.
There’s plenty more new additions to our site, so keep browsing to see what else you might discover. With everything above, please contact us if you spot something that needs editing / removing, isn’t working correctly, or if you would like to add your details. You can contact us via email at info@thametowncouncil.gov.uk or call us 01844 212833. We hope you enjoy the new changes!
