Advertising Board on Howland Road

Thame Town Council have been made aware of a large sign which appeared over the weekend of 30th November on land opposite the residential area at Pickenfield, Thame.  The sign is likely to have required planning permission but we are aware that the matter has already been referred to South Oxfordshire’s Planning Enforcement Team, who will investigate.
 
Residents living in the area have also raised concerns regarding the sign’s content which is requesting expressions of interest from third parties regarding development for employment uses on the site.
 
Thame Town Council would like to reassure residents that the land where the sign is situated is not allocated for development within the current Thame Neighbourhood Plan, that there is no planning consent in place for that site, and that no planning application has been submitted.  We will be contacting the land owner to express our residents’ concerns and to request that the sign is removed and that planning permission is gained before any future signage is erected.
