Parking Update – November 2021
As many of you will know, from 1 November Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) have taken over parking enforcement in Thame. With the change to enforcement OCC are aware some people are raising concerns regarding outdated restrictions and impending enforcement in areas where they have become used to parking in contravention near to their homes and businesses. Working with Thame Town Council (TTC) and local County Councillors, it has been agreed that the restrictions on Park Street, North Street and Lower High Street will be put under review to allow further discussions. Until further notice OCC have instructed their enforcement officers to avoid issuing penalties in these areas, however enforcement will continue for all other restricted areas. An agreement has also been reached between OCC and Thame Town Council (TTC) whereby TTC will continue to be responsible for issuing both daily trade and annual residents’ permits (to those eligible) in the short term, until OCC can arrange to transfer them into their operations.
