The Mayor opens new business in Thame

On Monday 2 October, Thame’s Mayor, Cllr Adrian Dite was invited to officially open a new branch of the UK’s leading independent builders’ merchant, MKM located on Lupton Road. This branch will mark MKM’s 123rd branch in the UK and has created 18 new jobs for the area. MKM Thame Branch Directors Aaron Campbell and Jake Sherwin have extensive ties to the Thame community and both will bring their deep understanding of local customers as well as expertise in the merchanting industry to the new branch. At the grand opening Aaron and Jake presented a cheque for £1300.00 to the Red Kite Family Centre and throughout their first year in business have pledged support to the Mayor’s chosen charities, the Red Kite Family Centre and Thame Shed.

MKM, which is open to both public and trade customers, is open Monday to Friday 7.00am – 5.00pm and Saturday 8.00am – 12.00pm, with free local delivery. Citizens Advice office relaunches

The Citizens Advice office in Market Square has had a bit of a rebranding and last week the Mayor, Cllr Adrian Dite cut the ribbon at their relaunch event. Other councillors and staff that attended were shown around the premises and were able to see for themselves some of the great work the volunteers do for the community.
