Henley and Thame’s newly elected MP, Freddie van Mierlo, says he is ready to hold the Government to account. The Liberal Democrat won the Henley and Thame constituency in the recent General Election, a seat previously held by Conservative candidates since 1910.

Mr van Mierlo has been a South Oxfordshire District Councillor since 2023 and an Oxfordshire County Councillor since 2021. He told the Thame Town Council newsletter:

‘I am deeply honoured and grateful to have been elected by the people of Henley and Thame constituency to represent your interests in parliament. Throughout Oxfordshire we saw five Liberal Democrat MPs elected, and 72 across the nation. It will be my job now to constructively hold the new government to account, and to fight for you on your issues. You can already contact my office on freddie.vanmierlo.mp@parliament.uk

Thame Town Council would like to extend our congratulations to Freddie van Mierlo on winning the Henley and Thame constituency in the general election.

As the voice of our community in the House of Commons, we wish Mr van Mierlo a successful and impactful term in office.
