All About Planning Applications
Have you ever wondered how the planning application process works in Thame?
In the first instance, neighbours adjacent to the boundary of a relevant property or area are notified of planning applications, and a notice is placed at the site.
You can use the South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) website to find and comment on planning applications, or sign-up to receive planning alerts via email.
Thame Town Council is then consulted on every planning application in the parish of Thame (including Moreton). We have a Planning Committee who meet every 4 weeks to consider applications in line with the Thame Neighbourhood Plan and Local Plan policies.
The Committee then makes a recommendation to SODC, who ultimately decide whether the application should receive permission or not.
You can read more about the Town Council’s role in planning on our website. The Town Council’s next Planning Committee is on 20 August – view the agenda here.
