A Win for Moorend Lane

Protests gathered at the Skate Park in Thame

On Monday 30 September, Thame Town Council received a notification from Oxfordshire County Council that the application for a permanent aggregate and soil recycling facility at Moorend Lane had been withdrawn.

The application was submitted on 21 June 2022. The decision to withdraw came less than 24 hours after the Lea Park Residents’ Association gathered at the Skate Park to protest against the development application.

News of the decision was welcomed on social media sites, with hundreds of people expressing their support – for now. Some were quick to point out that there is still the possibility of the application being revised and resubmitted sometime in the future.
