Thame Remembers
Hundreds of people gathered at the Thame War Memorial on Sunday 10 November to remember those who have fallen and honour those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life.
The Act of Remembrance Service began with a procession from the Town Hall to the Memorial Gardens. Mayor, Cllr Andy Gilbert welcomed those in attendance while Revd Mike Reading presented some opening words.
Following the exhortation, local trumpeter Richard Vanryne sounded the Last Post ahead of the two minutes’ silence.
The service ended with three members from the Army Cadet Force, Thame Detachment reading the names of the 30 soldiers whose names were recently added to the War Memorial, ahead of the laying of wreaths.
