Thame Good Neighbour Scheme Celebrates Major Milestone

Thame Good Neighbour Scheme (TGNS) turns ten this month and volunteers gathered at the Town Hall today (Thursday 13 March) to celebrate the milestone.

Since its inception in March 2015, TGNS has helped over 1,000 people with all manner of requests, from mowing lawns and picking up prescriptions, to helping with the weekly grocery shop and providing transport for hospital visits.

The scheme relies solely on local volunteers who are dedicated to helping people in the community.

In ten years, the Good Neighbour Scheme has welcomed:

  • 59 volunteers (39 active volunteers at present)
  • 1,195 jobs
