The response from Oxfordshire County Council to the consultation had been made available to Members following deferment of discussion on this item at the Full Council meeting held on 7 April 2015.
It was felt the relocation of the vehicular access to the development was incredibly close to the bend where Elms Road and Broadwaters Avenue met which could result in traffic problems. However, in view of the fact that the County Council’s Transport Officer had raised no objections a recommendation of approval would be made to the District Council.
RESOLVED to:
- RECOMMEND APPROVAL
7 Street Name
The District Street Naming and Numbering Officer had raised concerns that the suggested name Cotmore Wells Road for the new street off the Eastern Bypass, that would serve the industrial units, would lead to confusion with existing streets in the area named Cotmore Gardens and Cotmore Close.
After discussion it was thought highly unlikely that the suggested name for the new street would lead to vehicles arriving at the wrong destination and that there were a number of streets with similar names in the Town, for example Kings Close, Kings Road, Queens Close and Queens Road.
RESOLVED that
- Cotmore Wells Road be recommended as the name for the new street off the Eastern Bypass that would serve the industrial units.
8 Street Names – Site C
It was agreed to recommend to the District Street Naming and Numbering Officer that the names for the new streets on the Site C residential development be named after Abbots of Thame Abbey.
