ACE week and work experience at the Town Hall

This week we welcomed students from Lord Williams’ school as a part of their ACE week (Alternative Curriculum Experiences). We have hosted workshop sessions, in which the students were able to experience a council meeting and learn about how environmental policies and motions can form and develop within the council. It has been great to see how engaged the students have been and how they have been able to form arguments, and analyse the opposing views to make their own vote

We also had Daisy in this week as a part of her year 10 work experience. Daisy had the following to say about her time with Thame Town Council:

‘As a part of my Year 10 Work Experience, I joined TTC and got involved in the chaos that runs our town. I have met lots of wonderful people who welcomed me as I was introduced to the office team, our town councillors and the Mayor. This week I have assisted in some Year 9 ACE week sessions and explored our town, by taking official photos of the market and celebrating the 24th birthday of the Local Produce Market. The TTC is a friendly working environment where I experienced an eventful week of task and challenges. Thank you to everyone who made my Work Experience memorable.’

The Town Council would like to thank all the local businesses who have taken part in ACE week supported work experience students.
