Full Council Meeting Report: 13 Feb Planning Application at Oxford Road
The Town Council considered the planning application for 154 homes at Tuesday’s Full Council. The meeting was well attended by local residents, local press, as well as representatives from the developer and their agent. The meeting started with questions from the public about the application on matters including transport and flood risk before the Council heard from Thame residents who were objecting to the scheme. One resident, Chris Hatton gave a presentation which, along with the answers to the questions, will be made available alongside the official record of the meeting for the public to read. One local speaker and the developer, Bloor Homes spoke in favour of the application.
The Mayor also summarised the content of a letter sent on behalf of the developer, Bloor Homes, which arrived in our offices the evening before the meeting. This explained that following comments received from specialist consultees, and the Town Council, the developer intended to submit amendments to address the matters raised.
Following a summary of the application the Council asked questions about the scheme which were answered by the Neighbourhood Plan Continuity Officer. The Town Council voted unanimously to submit a holding objection to the District Council, as per the Town Council’s officer report. This was in recognition of the applicant’s intention to submit revised plans, and to give time for the Town Council to see comments submitted to the District Council from bodies on future flood risk, transport, noise and other matters.
The draft minutes of the meeting, containing details of the above will be available next week in our newsletter and on our website.
