Christmas Lights Switch On
Christmas Lights Switch On
Fri 29 Nov 6.30PM
Thame’s beloved “sweets man”, Chris Hurdman will switch on the lights this year.
In 2024, Chris was the recipient of the Community Award at the English Veteran’s Awards. For nearly 40 years, he has been a cornerstone of Thame’s Tuesday Charter Market.
Chris will be joined on stage by a very special man in a big red suit for the switch on – don’t miss it!
This year’s Christmas tree, including its delivery and installation have been donated by ASM Auto Recycling.
Road Closures
The Thame High Street/Cornmarket (from Bell Lane to North Street), Buttermarket, and High Street Carpark will be closed to traffic from midday until 8pm on Friday (29 Nov) in preparation for the Christmas Lights Switch On.
Stalls Open 4pm-7pm

Some of our friends from StrEat Meet will be there, including Bokkie (South African), Gyro World (Greek), Jerk Box (Caribbean), Manomi Eat (Vietnamese), Total Cow (burgers), Oh So Dough (donuts), and JW Events (popcorn, candy floss, sweets).
Drink Stalls
With 3 drink stations you won’t go thirsty. The Rotary Club of Thame will be set-up on the bus stop side of the Town Hall with two mulled wine stations to get you into the festive spirit. For soft drinks, beer, wine, and other festive drinks, including mulled cider, head to the MYCASO Bar near the food stalls. And don’t forget to grab yourself a Hot Chocolate (with a yummy topping) – the hot chocolate stand will be located to the left of the stage.
