3. Public Participation and Public Questions

Report – External Organisations
7. A Thame “Shed”
A request for support from this Committee in establishing a “Shed” in Thame (to enable community based practical activities for the older person) has recently been received from local resident Mike Ashford and was circulated to all Members on Wednesday 13 July 2016. Cllrs Dyer and Wyse have expressed interest in the idea. To have an initial discussion to assist the team as they establish feasibility or otherwise.

9. Priest End Allotments to Burial Space
To receive a written update on the plans to convert Priest End Allotments to Burial Space and agree the heads of terms of formal transfer of the land to the Church.

12. Town Awards 2016
To receive an update on the 2016 Town Awards and to consider any changes to the 2017 Awards.
13. Litter and Dog Fouling / Carnival
To note that the carnival was successfully used as an opportunity to promote awareness in relation to litter and dog fouling, via the Town Council “Float”.
14. Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations
To note that grants were allocated to the various successful Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations as follows: St Mary’s Flower Festival £500, Festival Quiz £250, Street Cricket £1,200, Carnival £1,200 and Beacon Lighting £1,202.
15. St Mary’s Church Flower Festival
To note the letter of thanks received from St Mary’s Church following the successful Flower Festival held in May.
16. Memorial Gardens Flag Pole
To note that the flag pole has been successfully installed at the Memorial Gardens. An initial flag raising ceremony following the national 2 minute silence to mark the centenary of the start of the Battle of the Somme took place on Friday 1 July 2016.
17. Drainage Work – Upper High Street
To note that the Communities Services Manager is in discussion with Oxfordshire County Council on works to be scheduled to replace the central footpath on the Upper High Street in the Autumn. Co-ordination is required to maximise benefits such as improved drainage, ensure it fits with the adjacent tree grilles installation and minimises short term impacts on markets, fairs, parking and the kebab van.
18. Southern Road Recreation Ground
To note that permission has been given to the Police to use Southern Road Recreation Ground for a proposed Emergency Services Day on Sunday 25 September 2016.
