Town Council Welcomes Newest Councillor

At its meeting on Tuesday 4 March, Thame Town Council co-opted Andy Wainwright onto the council having considered the three applications received to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Helena Fickling.
Andy has lived in Thame with his family for almost 30 years, is a keen cyclist, member of the ‘Je T’hame’ band, and works for the NHS. He previously served as a Governor of Lord Williams’s School, and is now a Member of the Lord Williams’s Academy Trust.
In his application to the council, Andy said he aspires for Thame to be a sustainable, fair, and inclusive community, whilst recognising the challenges facing Thame, including the rising cost of living for many families.
In his role as Town Councillor, Andy hopes to focus on Thame’s community and environment. He said that ‘he was excited to be joining the council at a time when there was so much going on, including the proposed Thame Community and Youth Centre, Thame Neighbourhood Plan, and Thame to Haddenham Greenway’.
