Cuttle Brook Works Next Week

Thame Town Council is delighted to report that the soil mound created after recent works at Cuttle Brook will be lowered, spread, and seeded next week.

The Town Council, in partnership with the River Thame Conservation Trust, has appointed a contractor to carry out soil movement works in the nature reserve. These works are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 April 2025, weather permitting.

This activity is part of an ongoing initiative to enhance the ecological and community value of the area.

The soil will be distributed across several locations within the reserve, with no area exceeding a height of 30cm. These mounds will be carefully landscaped, with gently graded edges to ensure they are easy to maintain.

Once shaped, the areas will be seeded with native meadow grasses and a selection of wildflowers to encourage quick regrowth.

Restricted Access During Works

Thame Town Council is asking people to stay away from the area while the works are carried out. In the interest of safety, the contractor has requested no pedestrians or dogs in the area while they are using heavy machinery.
