    Linda Emery and Erroll Bateman at Thame Food Festival Following the Erroll Bateman’s spectacular charity sky dive in July, the Rotary Club of Thame had a prominent presence at Thame Food Festival last Saturday, 24 September. The club members raised a bit over £660 from the sale of raffle tickets towards hampers with good foods and wines donated by the club members. The profits from the sale will go primarily towards Red Kite Children’s Centre, Wheel Power, and Hope and Homes for Children which are Rotary Club of Thame’s charities in 2016-2017.   • Thame Town Charity Fair

    Thame Town Charity Fair, this year involving 20 local groups, will be held on Saturday, November 5th, at Thame Town Hall. It will be open to the public from 10am until 2pm.   The annual Charity Fair is organised to give local Charities the opportunity to raise funds and promote their services. During the day stalls will be selling gifts, Floral arrangements, plants, preserves, books , cards, toys and much more. There will also be a tombola and raffle for adults and children.   • BFG/Frozen-Themed Fundraiser raises £350

    Thank you to all parents and children who supported Red Kite Children’s Centre on Saturday 1st October at the BFG/Frozen themed fundraising event. Amy Spicer, Centre Manager, staff and representative John Hulett of Sharinglife Trust (pictured left), collected nearly £350 on the day from donations to the centre. Children from the centre met characters from BFG and Frozen, they had a marvellous time meeting Elsa, Anna and Big Friendly Giant. Activities included face painting, dreamcatchers craft, Frozen Sensory corner and lots of other Frozen related crafts and messy play activities.     Thame needs your votes in the national competition to find Britain’s best high street. Over a week into the public voting period, a rankings release by the Great British High Street Competition has revealed that in the small market town category, Thame is trailing in third place. 1.     The Service of Remembrance will be taking place at Thame Memorial Gardens on Sunday 13 November 2016. The procession, which will include Town Councillors, members of the Royal British Legion and other community groups, will assemble outside the Town Hall at 10.30am ready to proceed to the War Memorial.   Following the service everyone is warmly invited to Christchurch for refreshments.   A copy of the Order of Service can be downloaded by clicking here.
