  • Mayor’s Bingo raises £680!

    The Mayor’s Bingo fundraising event was held on Friday 9th September at Thame Snooker Club. It was the Mayor’s first fundraising event of her mayoral year, around 70 people attended and over £680 was raised on the night. The Mayor, Cllr Linda Emery would like to especially thank Wendy, Pauline and Terry, for the smooth running of the event on the night and also local retail businesses, namely the Co-op, Sainsbury, Wally’s Toy Shop, Thame Snooker Club and Bizzie Lizzie who contributed to the raffle and bingo prizes.     On Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 October, Thame will be playing host to a French Market for three days of selling the finest French products and gifts on the cobbled area around the Town Hall.   Our friends from across the pond will be selling classic French food including bread, patisserie, cheese and olives, as well as vintage French music and leather handbags. There will also be a new onion and garlic stall this year!     Following a successful open meeting in Thame Town Hall supported by an enthusiastic group of would be ‘shedders’, a Steering Group has met to plan the way forward and make Thame Shed a reality, a place where men and women who either don’t or no longer work, can engage in practical activity, creating, making, mending, refurbishing and sharing their skills in the companionship of others.
