  • All you need to know about April’s extra garden waste collection

Our crews can’t collect any waste left in re-enforced sacks, so please don’t leave those out.” All the garden waste collected will be taken to a facility near Wallingford where it is composted. Participants are asked to transform the windows of their flat, house, business, school, nursery, car, campervan, shop – or their front garden, into an illuminated art trail – transforming Thame’s streets into a magical outdoor gallery for all to enjoy – brightening people’s evenings in the run up to Christmas.     Following a recent community competition, Thame’s Town Flag was officially raised this morning. Competition winner Hazel Mann was joined by the Mayor of Thame, Cllr Tom Wyse, and Councillors to raise the flag outside the Town Hall. Hazel received a bouquet of flowers for her design being chosen the winner from 33 entries. The Town Flag incorporates the Town Council’s colours with part of the town’s emblem on the left hand side, and three waves – which signify the countryside, the Phoenix Trail and the River Thame – on the right hand side.     At a Full Council meeting on 24 May, Thame Town Council was pleased to appoint Andy Gilbert as a Councillor for Thame’s North Ward, following the vacancy that arose in March. Andy will serve as a Town Councillor until the local elections in May 2023.
