Minutes of a Meeting of the Planning & Environment Committee held on 12 March 2024 at 6:30pm in the Upper Chamber, Thame Town Hall.

Cllr Emery was absent without apology.

 

2) Election of a Deputy Chairman

Cllr Baines had volunteered to fill the vacancy of Deputy Chairman. There being no other nominations, it was:

7) Travel Plan Working Group

The report was noted. The recent public meetings regarding buses in Thame had been successful with a great turnout and lots feedback to action. A common theme was a lack of awareness of the bus routes and connections in Thame. Various suggestions were made to improve awareness, the Travel Plan Working Group will consider appropriate and proportionate actions to take, noting that the County Council and bus companies are responsible for buses in Thame. The community bus is in the early stages of a plan to take forward, with details to follow.

 

8) Pre-Planning Consultation

Proposed Base Station Installation Upgrade at Cornerstone 10738426, Chinnor R.F.C, Kingsey Road, Thame, Oxfordshire, OX9 3WE

It was noted that the Town Council has been consulted on this application prior to it being submitted to SODC.

It was agreed that the Town Council should submit no comment.

 

9) MW.0163/22 – Land adjacent Sewage Works, Moorend Lane, Thame – Amendment No.2

Use of part of the land as a permanent aggregate and soil recycling facility, with final restoration of the remaining land to agriculture by regrading already deposited materials. Erection of a new site office and weighbridge, and retention of the surfacing of part of the site with hardcore.

It was agreed that the Neighbourhood Plan Continuity Officer would collate and submit the Town Council’s comments on the latest amendment to the scheme. On an initial review, the amended plans had not addressed all the Town Council’s concerns. It was suggested that an article be placed in the newsletter about the amended plans given the public interest in this site.
