6 Premises Licence Application – LAPREM/15804/21

Members raised concern about the possible noise disturbance that an off-licence in this location may generate given the proximity to residential properties. Overall it was felt that there was insufficient information to make a considered response. Officers would request more information from the District Council’s Licencing team.

7 Street Names – Former DAF Trucks Ltd Site, Eastern By-Pass

The report was noted. There had been some comments made with regards to the use of Councillor’s names as street names. It was noted that only two of the five names proposed on this site were former Councillors, with the others making contributions to the town through education, community events and businesses. The families had all been consulted and were supportive of the proposed street names. It was also noted that the committee had delegated authority to suggest street names.

The Committee Services Officer explained that the District Council had suggested ‘Welply Crescent’ however the family asked whether ‘Welply Way’ could be used. The District Council had advised that although ‘Crescent’ was their preference as it better reflected the shape of the road and avoided alliteration, if the Town Council also supported ‘Welply Way’ then it could be used.

RESOLVED that:

  1. The committee support the use of the street name ‘Welply Way’.

It was noted that the Thame Conservation Area Advisory Committee had made some suggestions for street names. The Chairman advised that Officers would compile a list of street name suggestions for future consultations.
